The Ross Family Legacy Foundation supports charities and non-profit organizations in order to make an immediate, positive impact on the lives of people and animals in our communities.
"The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitudes of mind."
- William James
The Roosters Food drive started 13 years ago with a group of volunteers packing
130 dinners including turkey, stuffing, potatoes, and toys. Fast forward to 2009…this
incredible group plans to pack 4000 boxes of food that will be distributed to over 30 charitable
agencies in Orange County in December.
The Ross Family Foundation just presented a check for $20,000 as a matching donation
from 24 generous Rooster donors. This means turkeys may be purchased earlier in the year
at a reduced rate. 2nd Harvest Food Bank of Orange County has agreed to store the birds
at no charge.
This year’s Food Drive will be held Sunday, December 20, at the Army Reserve base
in Tustin, California. Over 300 volunteers will be packing approximately 140,000
pounds of food that day!
Because of the RFLF matching donation, and the huge hearts of Rooster members, many families are definitely going to have happier holidays.
