The Roosters Food and Wine Celebration provides a unique venue where friends can come together to help those in need. The event spans two days and offers the very best food and wine available. Chefs and sommeliers showcase their finest as attendees get caught up with old friends and make some new.
Proceeds from the event ticket sales and silent auction items benefit a variety of local charities. Last year over 40,000 people were fed as a direct result of this event.

Rooster OC Food & Wine Event was a Success!!

The Rooster’s hosted their food & wine event last weekend and the Ross Family Foundation was a sponsor. This two day event kicked off with an afternoon in the sun and tastes of beautiful California wines. The following evening was an extra special treat with private dinners each hosted by an exclusive Chef. The RFF was lucky to have Chef Masa Oso from McCormick & Schimicks, Beverly Hills, as our chef. Let me tell you it was delish! The best part other than the food & drink was that this event raised over $200,000 to feed local OC families in need. Talk about a huge impact on the community.

The Roosters is a charity and social organization, consisting of 100 professional men, with diverse backgrounds, from the greater Orange County area of Southern California. Each year, we raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for disadvantaged children. February 2010 marked the 33-year that the Roosters have been active in philanthropy and outstanding community service. We are a 501-C-3 tax-exempt corporation that provides a cost effective means of fund raising with marketing advice and support for local children’s charities and community groups.

Over the years, the Roosters have been recognized by the news media, the Orange County Board of Supervisors, the State of California and the United States Congress. Roosters Food & Wine Celebration joins the Roosters Foundation Food Drive (This year will feed 5,000 families with needy and at-risk children representing 40,000 people living below the poverty line in Orange County), the Rooster Bowl college football championship fundraiser and our annual Roosters Children’s Charity Golf Tournament in placing the Roosters amongst the foremost men’s charity organizations in the United States.

William Ross is thrilled to be a member and social chair at the Roosters organization, organizations such as this is what the RFF is proud to support. Great event to all those who came out and supported the efforts of the Roosters.

Eva Kilgore was a lead director/ organizer of the event and Allison Andrews produced the fashion show element, using the 30+ high school students as models.

Ross Family Foundation Supports Music Programs

On May 2, at the Waterfront Hilton in Huntington Beach, our own Allison Andrews will
be behind the scenes as the Huntington Harbour Philharmonic Committee juniors walk the
catwalk. This is Allison’s third year coordinating the fashion show portion of this very fun event.
The HHPC is presenting “A Trip to the Orient”...a luncheon, silent auction, and fashion
show. Proceeds will go to continue the music programs of Orange County students from
kindergarten through 12th grade. Last year, this event sold out!

Ross Family Foundation is a proud sponsor of this event. Music programs have been
severely cut all over the country, and especially in Orange County. Next year, in the
Ocean View School District alone, 4 out of 5 music teachers will not be returning.

Ross Family Foundation goes to San Fran!

This will be the second year that the Ross Family Foundation will be part of the P.A.W.S (Pets Are Wonderful Support) Petchitecture event!

Petchitecture is PAWS’ signature fundraiser. All net proceeds support their mission to make sure that illness or age never separate people from the unconditional love of their pets.
Over 800 human guests and their well-behaved canine companions will be treated to a gala evening unlike any other in San Francisco, including an exhibition of one-of-a-kind pet habitats created by some of the Bay Area’s leading architects and designers.  A live auction will feature fabulous lifestyle packages and throughout the evening guests will bid on valuable items contributed to our silent auction while dining on the Palace’s award-winning cuisine.  In addition, some of the most talented animal photographers in the Bay Area will be on-hand to catch that perfect moment with guests and their pets.

Join us and are furry friends on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Palace Hotel from 6:30-10:30p.m. and enjoy a spectacular evening.  Fully licensed dogs (on leash) are most welcome!

We just recently had our first year gala. It was to create awareness of the charities the RFF supports and raise additional money to help these charities. There was incredible silent auction items, Mardi Gras theme decor and cuisine and even a great blues band. There was over 200 people all ready to hear about what are family has been doing for the last year. It provide a great opportunity for our respectful organizations to reach a larger audience that already is philanthropic.
Organizations represented included The Rooters, Olive Crest, Rancho Coastal Humane Society, St. Paul’s Senior Centers, PAWS AND P.A.C.T.

Dollars for Scholars!

On October 15, 2009, the University of San Diego hosted the 2009 San Diego County Scholarship Showcase to recognize community sponsors and donors that raised scholarship funds to support local, college-bound students through various Dollars for Scholars organizations. The Ross Family Foundation was recognized at this event for its generous support of the Friends of Cal-SOAP Dollars for Scholars chapter. This chapter supports “Cal-SOAP” (California Student Opportunity and Access Program) students that are first-generation, college-bound students with demonstrated financial need. Students supported by this chapter have gone on to attend institutions such as: UC Santa Barbara, UC Santa Cruz, UC San Diego, San Diego State University, and University of Virginia. The Friends of Cal-SOAP Dollars for Scholars organization accepts tax-deductable donations on a year-round basis. RFF is proud sponsor of the Roosters- HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

  Exciting news! This year the Roosters have teamed up with Second Harvest Food Bank in
Orange County. “I had the opportunity to visit their facility and was very impressed,” said
RFF founder Bill Ross. “It is our pleasure to help this most worthwhile group,” Ross added.

This year, the Roosters will pack 4000 boxes of food for needy families. This is 1000
more than last year! Usually, there are over 200 volunteers helping pack boxes of food,
and this year the packing event will be: December 20, from 8:30 a.m. to Noon at
the US Army Reserve Center at 2345 Barranca, Irvine (inside the warehouse).

The Ross Family Foundation helped pay for about half of the 60,000 pounds of turkey needed
for 4,000 families. Along with turkey, there will be canned goods, snack items, stuffing…and
additional food items.

Boxes are distributed on-site to various charitable organizations, including Olive Crest
Abused Child Center, Second Harvest, and military families at Camp Pendleton. Please

Halloween wishes come true because of an RFF member!

At a recent Huntington Harbour Kiwanis meeting,founding RFF member Pat Ross told the story of going
to the local elementary school each year to watch the children at their Halloween parade. “Every
year there were several children with no costumes, heads down…and I felt very sorry for them.”
said Pat.
She suggested that members might consider donating costumes and accessories to these
children. The principal of Harbour View Elementary School, Cindy Osterhout, happened to be at
this meeting. She was thrilled at the idea!
Members came together in a big way and donated hats, fairy wings, costumes, masks,
kitty ears…boxes of fun things for these children. Huntington Harbour Kiwanis has taken on
this project as a permanent endeavor, and will donate again next year. Thank you Pat-
you’ve made a lot of children very, very happy.
